Tuesday January 22nd - Christchurch, New Zealand! ;)

I'm in New Zealand!! How crazy is that!? And what is even more crazy is that I'm here with my parents! Was so crazy to meet them at the airport on the other side of the world after seven months! :)

So, yesterday me and two American girls took a bus from Noosa to Brisbane and went to a hostel which was almost the closest one to the transit centre because I had to take the airport train from there the next morning at 5.30. We arrived in Brisbane at 6 and then I just walked around the city centre and then we were hanging out at the hostel's rooftop terrace - pretty nice view in the evening!

The next morning I woke up at 4.30 to take the train to the airport to catch my flight at 7.45. The flight was a bit late but three and a half hours went fast and I was so excited to see mum and dad! They flew from Sydney and I actually saw their plane from mine and they saw my plane landing. It was so funny to see them standing in the line to the passport check!! After the security check (They didn't allow me to take my macadamia nuts with me!!) we booked a hotel (how fun it is to stay in a hotel after living in hostels for so long!!) in the city for one night. The hotel is really nice and there is a really good breakfast included (muesli, yoghurt, toast, fruit and you can even ask the chef to make you an omelette with whatever you like!! luxury for me ;). Then we went to have lunch/dinner in a really good mexican restaurant - so good! After that we went to a travel agency to book a rental car for ten days. We'll get the car tomorrow and head somewhere west from here at first. Then we just walked around the city centre but it was a bit rainy and cold (16 degrees feels pretty freezing for me.. ;).. Then we went to an English pub for a beer before coming back to the hotel to warm up and have some hot tea. And I also had some Fazer's chocolate that they brought me (so good! and I also got some Turkish Peppers :) Christchurch seems like a a nice city - and really English (also the weather seems quite English at the moment..)! There is a funny mixture of beautiful old English architecture and new buildings. But tomorrow we'll start our road trip and head to the west coast of the south island of New Zealand! See you :)

Hei, hauska kuulla, että olette kohdanneet maailmalla. Täällä meillä on nyt n. -7 ast. ja LUNTA! Huomiselle torstaille luvattu rankkaa lumipyryä koko maahan.

Jukaltakin terkkuja.
