Sunday January 20th - Noosa

Another trip cancelled because of the floods and tre dagar pa svenska in the bush camp instead ;)

I arrived in Noosa on Thursday morning and took the shuttle bus to Koala's. In the afternoon I did a 10 km walk in Noosa National Park - really beautiful! And I also saw a koala!! The first one ever! ;) Then on Friday morning I did a surf lesson - so much fun again! The waves were not that good and it was really crowded but surfing was fun anyway ;)

In the afternoon they picked me up from Gagaju Bush Camp where I was gonna do the canoeing trip. The place turned out to be a real bush camp - I mean, a camp in the bushes ;) I'm staying in a dorm room which is more like a tent and the beds are more like hammocks but unbelievably comfortable! The camp is actually really nice, one of the best places I've stayed so far! The camp is right by the river so me and two Swedish guys Fredrik and Nils went swimming for the whole afternoon. I always speak english with swedish people but this time I decided to start speaking swedish ;) So there is a three day swedish lesson going on in here.. ;)

The next morning we woke up really early to leave for the three day canoeing trip but had a little change for plans because of the nice summer weather that has been the rainiest for like hundred years.. Well, it's good for the environment because they've really suffered from the lack of rain here.. So, since the national park was flooded they had closed the whole park which meant that we could't do the trip at all.. Instead, we did a one day trip. I was on a canoe with two english girls who turned out to be pretty unbelievable.. The other one had this really crazy high voice (you know the bimbo one from every american teenage movie..) and after five minutes of paddling they started complaining that their arms hurt and thank god we didn't do the three day trip because this is so hard.. So after a couple of hours I began to be quite happy to not having to go for three days with them and 10 other really english English people.. ;) We also ended up flipping over a few times but that was the fun part! And we ended up to this really beautiful small island and were just hanging around for a couple of hours! So, had a nice day anyway :)

So, the canoeing trip didn't work out but I decided to stay here at the bush camp till tomorrow. Such a nice place! It's so relaxing to be in the middle of the forrest and not having to worry about anything! Today morning me, Fredrik and Nils went swimming again and just played around with an old surf board and layed in the sun for a few hours. In the afternoon we went to this really amazing swimming place with a bunch of people. The pool actually has something to do with mining, there is a lot of lime stone and the water is really clear and blue! And, well, there is a sign "no swimming".. Let's go then! ;) There were a lot of other people as well so we figured that it can't be dangerous. We went there with this weird maybe 25 year old australian guy who lives here in a tent with his mom and five siblings... Yep, there are also many other quite interesting people living here.. ;) Had a lot of fun there and jumped into the water from 6 or 7 meters I think. After that I just took a nap and now I think I'll go and cook some dinner. Such a great time I've had here anyway! I really think that you always have the most fun just by accident and right now I'm not too disappointed that I couldn't do the trip.. Nice place, nice people and just hanging around, swimming a lot, laying in the sun and in a hammock - that's life :)

Tomorrow I'll take a bus to Brisbane where I'll stay for one night and on tuesday morning I'll have my flight to Christchurch, New Zealand! Can't wait! ;) See you the day after tomorrow mum and dad! Oh, well, you probably won't be reading this since you're in Sydney right now (how crazy is that, we're in the same country for the first time for seven months!)
